Privacy Policy
AVIROCK LLC ("AVIROCK," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at avirock.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information you provide when interacting with the Site.
We are a research and protocol-development organization. The Site is informational in nature. Our data practices are intentionally minimal.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information you voluntarily submit through the inquiry form on the Site:
- Name — to address you appropriately in our reply.
- Organization — to understand the professional context of your inquiry.
- Email address — to respond to your inquiry.
- Subject and message contents — to understand and respond to the substance of your inquiry.
The inquiry form is implemented as a mailto: link. When you submit the form, your local email client opens with the field contents pre-filled, and you choose whether to send the message. AVIROCK does not host a server that captures form submissions; the data leaves your device only when you press Send in your own email client.
2. Cookies and Tracking
The Site does not set cookies, run analytics scripts, embed third-party tracking pixels, or otherwise collect information about your browsing behavior. Standard server access logs maintained by our static-site hosting provider may record IP addresses and request metadata for operational and security purposes; these logs are not used for marketing.
3. How We Use Your Information
Information you submit by email is used exclusively to:
- Respond to your professional inquiry;
- Maintain a record of correspondence for the duration of an ongoing professional relationship;
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your information to send unsolicited communications.
4. Open-Access Publications
Our published research protocols are hosted by Zenodo (operated by CERN) under permanent DOIs and Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 licensing. Zenodo maintains its own privacy practices, which you can review at about.zenodo.org/privacy-policy. Accessing or downloading our publications via Zenodo is subject to Zenodo's terms, not ours.
5. Data Retention
Correspondence is retained for the duration of our professional relationship with you and for a reasonable period thereafter for reference and legal compliance. You may request deletion of any correspondence we hold at any time by emailing the contact below.
6. Your Rights
You may request, at any time and at no cost:
- A summary of what correspondence we hold from you;
- Correction of inaccurate information;
- Deletion of correspondence (subject to legal-retention obligations).
Residents of the European Union and the United Kingdom have additional rights under GDPR. Residents of California have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). To exercise any rights, email us at the address below.
7. Security
We follow standard professional practices to protect correspondence in our possession. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure; we make no guarantee of absolute security.
8. Children
The Site is intended for professionals in agricultural compliance, certification, research, and adjacent fields. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 16 years of age.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Updates take effect on the date posted at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
